U.S. Hemp Roundtable General Counsel, Jonathan Miller, to Testify Before House Oversight Committee
1 min read
Tomorrow, April 9th, the U.S. Hemp Roundtable General Counsel Jonathan Miller will testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability at a hearing titled “Restoring Trust in FDA: Rooting Out Illicit Products.”
Jonathan will share key insights on the urgent need for regulation of hemp-derived cannabinoid products. With more than a decade of industry leadership, he’ll advocate for a clear, science-based regulatory framework that ensures consumer safety, supports responsible manufacturers, and eliminates the gray area that has allowed bad actors to thrive.
This isn’t the first time Jonathan testified before Congress about the FDA’s inaction towards regulating the hemp industry. Two years ago, he testified before a subcommittee of this same committee, calling for urgent FDA action to regulate hemp extracts and protect public health. You can revisit his previous testimony here.
4 other subject matter experts will serve on the panel alongside Jonathan, including a former FDA commissioner, Dr. David Kessler.
We’re proud to have Jonathan representing the hemp industry in front of federal policymakers and continuing our push for safe, fair, and consistent regulation.
